This is what I see most often:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wa-3 wa-swipe\">\n<div class=\"wa-card\">\n<h3>Orphan pages<\/h3>\n<p>Articles and pages that no link points to. They exist only in the sitemap, and Google treats them as unimportant.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wa-card\">\n<h3>Everything links to the homepage<\/h3>\n<p>Every article links to the homepage and the contact page, but not to the service or category that should sell.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wa-card\">\n<h3>&#8220;Click here&#8221; anchors<\/h3>\n<p>Links reading &#8220;more here&#8221; or &#8220;read more&#8221; don&#8217;t tell Google what the target page is about.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wa-card\">\n<h3>Cannibalization<\/h3>\n<p>Three articles on the same topic take rankings from each other, and links point randomly at all three.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wa-card\">\n<h3>Deeply buried products<\/h3>\n<p>Key categories are 5 or more clicks from the homepage, behind pagination and filters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"wa-card\">\n<h3>Automatic plugins<\/h3>\n<p>A plugin that links every occurrence of a word creates hundreds of identical anchors and text that reads badly.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"wa-mt\"><strong>What others get wrong:<\/strong> they install an automatic internal linking plugin or put 80 links in the footer. Or they add &#8220;related posts&#8221; chosen by an algorithm based on tags.
