Content pruning means I go through every post on your blog and decide for each one: keep it, update it, merge it with another or remove it with a redirect. On most company blogs a few dozen posts bring 80% of the traffic, and the rest just dilutes the site, cannibalizes itself and wastes crawl budget. Fewer, better posts mean more traffic. Blog up to 200 posts for €590.

Why an old blog holds back your whole site?
More posts don’t mean more traffic. Google evaluates the site as a whole, and hundreds of weak, outdated or duplicate posts pull down the good ones too. This is what I see on blogs most often:
Posts with zero visits
Half the blog hasn’t had a single click from Google in the last year. The crawler still has to go through them.
Five posts on one topic
“How to choose a mattress”, “Mattress buying tips”, “Which mattress to buy”. They compete with each other and none of them makes page 1.
Outdated information
Prices from 2019, broken links, old screenshots. Readers leave and Google notices.
News and announcements
“Holiday opening hours 2021” as an indexed post. Zero SEO value.
Thin posts
300 words written “for SEO” ten years ago. They don’t answer anything people search for today.
Deleted without redirects
Someone already cleaned up once and deleted posts along with their backlinks. Now they lead to a 404.
What others get wrong: they bulk-delete everything without traffic, with no redirects and no backlink check. Or they delete nothing and keep adding more posts on the same topics. The right approach is to decide on each post individually, based on data, not gut feeling.
What I do in a blog cleanup
Inventory of all posts
Every post with data from Search Console, Analytics, backlinks and word count in one spreadsheet.
Traffic and rankings
Which posts bring clicks, which sit just below page 1 and which have done nothing for years.
Cannibalization
I find posts competing for the same keyword. More in the article on keyword cannibalization (in Slovak).
A decision for every post
Keep, update, merge, remove with a redirect or set to noindex. Every decision has a reason.
Merging posts
One strong post out of five weak ones, with 301 redirects from the old URLs.
Backlinks
I never delete posts with backlinks without a redirect, so their value isn’t lost.
Internal linking
After the cleanup I fix internal links so nothing points to a removed post.
60-day check
I compare traffic before and after and check 404s and indexing in Search Console.
The videos are in Slovak; YouTube can show automatic English subtitles.
Blog cleanup pricing
| Package | Who it’s for | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Blog up to 200 posts | Company or store blog with up to 200 posts. Spreadsheet with a decision for every post, redirects, merging and a 60-day check. Most popular. | €590 |
| Blog up to 600 posts | Larger magazine or blog with up to 600 posts. Same process, more merging and internal link updates. Over 600 posts priced individually. | €990 |
Prices are final; we are not VAT registered. I make the decisions and set up the redirects. Rewriting and updating post content is not included; you can do it yourself from my notes or via the SEO articles service.
How it works
About two to three weeks of work, then a check after 60 days. I need access to WordPress, Search Console and Google Analytics. Nothing gets deleted until you approve the spreadsheet.
1
Analysis (week 1). Inventory of all posts with data, cannibalization, backlinks. I send a spreadsheet with proposed decisions.
2
Approval and changes (weeks 2 to 3). Once you approve, I merge, redirect, set noindex and fix internal links.
3
Check (after 60 days). Traffic before and after, 404 errors, indexing. If anything is off, I fix it.

Frequently asked questions about content pruning
What is content pruning?
Cleaning up a site’s content: for each post, the data decides whether to keep it, update it, merge it with another, or remove it with a redirect. The goal is fewer but stronger pages.
How much does a blog cleanup cost?
Blog up to 200 posts €590, up to 600 posts €990. Over 600 posts priced individually. Prices are final; we are not VAT registered.
Won’t I lose traffic by deleting posts?
Not if it’s done right. I only delete posts without traffic or backlinks; the rest are merged with 301 redirects. We check the traffic after 60 days.
Is it better to delete a post or set it to noindex?
It depends on the post. If it’s useful to readers (for example, a guide for customers), noindex. If it’s outdated and helps no one, delete it and redirect to a similar post.
How often should a blog be cleaned up?
For an active blog, once every year or two. For a blog that’s been idle for years, once is enough, then regularly update the most important posts.
Will you rewrite the posts too?
The price covers the decisions, merging and redirects. Rewriting is a separate service, or you get notes on what to change in each post.
When will I see results?
First changes usually show in 4 to 8 weeks, once Google recrawls the merged and redirected pages. That’s why the check is after 60 days.
