WordPress and WooCommerce maintenance is a monthly service where I take care of updates, backups, security and speed, so you don’t have to worry about your website. Unlike regular maintenance, I also check your website’s SEO health in Search Console once a month, so a plugin update can’t quietly switch off indexing without anyone noticing for three months. From €49 a month, no lock-in.

Why WordPress needs maintenance?
WordPress isn’t a bad system. A WordPress site nobody has looked at for two years is. Most of the hacked websites I clean up had outdated plugins. Most slow websites have ten plugins nobody uses anymore. And most SEO problems after a “routine update” could be caught in five minutes if someone looked at Search Console. Typical situations people come to me with:
“The website broke after an update.”
A plugin updated itself, conflicted with the theme, white screen. There’s no backup, or it’s on the same server that just went down.
“There are weird pages of ours in Google.”
An old plugin with a vulnerability that someone used to insert hundreds of spam pages. Google indexed them and the website is sliding in search.
“The website keeps getting slower.”
A database full of revisions and abandoned carts, unused plugins, uncompressed images. A little worse every month, nobody notices.
“Whoever built our website stopped responding.”
The freelancer moved on, the agency closed. Nobody knows where the hosting is, who has access and what can safely be updated.
“Orders from Google stopped coming.”
The SEO plugin changed its settings after an update, the sitemap disappeared or noindex got switched on. Without checking Search Console it takes months to find out.
“We don’t have time for this.”
The most common reason. A website is a sales tool, not a hobby. Maintenance needs to happen regularly, otherwise it only happens after a crash, when it’s more expensive.
What’s included in monthly website maintenance
Off-site backups
Regular automatic backups of files and database stored outside your hosting, with restore options. Daily for online stores.
Updates
WordPress core, theme and plugins. Critical security fixes right away, others after a compatibility check. For bigger changes: backup first, then update, then check.
Security
Firewall, malware scanning, login limits, review of users with administrator rights and removal of unused plugins.
Uptime
Monitoring that the website is up. If it goes down, I know before your customers do and handle it with the hosting provider.
Speed
Database cleanup, caching, Core Web Vitals checks and the third-party scripts that slow the website down the most.
SEO health
A monthly Search Console check: indexing, errors, sitemap, noindex, click drops. What regular maintenance doesn’t cover and what decides your orders.
Small edits
1 hour a month with Company website, 2 hours with Online store for small things: text, a banner, a new plugin, a form tweak.
Monthly report
A short overview: what was updated, which backups exist, any downtime, speed and SEO health. One page, no technical clutter.
The videos are in Slovak; YouTube can show automatic English subtitles.
WordPress maintenance pricing
| Package | Who it’s for and what’s included | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|
| Website | Brochure website or blog. Backups, updates, security, uptime monitoring, monthly SEO check and report. No small edits. | €49 |
| Company website | Company website with services, forms and a blog. Everything in Website, database cleanup, speed checks and 1 hour of small edits per month. Most popular. | €99 |
| Online store | WooCommerce store. Daily backups, updates with cart and payment tests, order email checks, speed, 2 hours of edits per month and priority response. | €199 |
Prices are final; we are not VAT registered. No lock-in, cancel any time by the last day of the month. I respond to requests within one business day, with the Online store package preferably the same business day. Unused hours of small edits don’t roll over; larger work beyond the package is €48 per hour.
How I take over your website
In the first month I don’t start with updates, but with an inventory. Backup first, then I find out what’s on the website, who has access and what’s risky. Only then do updates happen.
1
Takeover. Access to the admin and hosting, a first full backup, a list of plugins, users and licenses. The credentials stay yours; I use my own account.
2
Entry check. Security, speed, SEO health in Search Console, unused plugins. You get a list of risks and what to do about them.
3
Ongoing care. Regular backups, updates, monitoring and a monthly report. You write when you need something, I get in touch when I see something.
What you get on top
Entry check included
In the first month I go through the security, speed and SEO health of the whole website and you get a list of risks. On its own, that would be half an audit.
No lock-in
If you’re not happy, you can cancel by the last day of the month. I’ll hand over all access and backups.
SEO eyes on your website
Not just a technician clicking “update all”. If I see a problem in Search Console, I’ll tell you before you see it in your revenue.

Who looks after your website
RNDr. Milan Fraňo, PhD. and the WooAcademy team. We’ve been building WordPress and WooCommerce websites and stores since 2018 and teach WordPress in our courses. Why I consider WordPress the best system for SEO is in the short video above and in the article about Rank Math. What slows websites down the most is in the article on third-party scripts (both in Slovak).
Frequently asked questions about WordPress maintenance
How much does WordPress website maintenance cost?
Website €49, company website €99 and WooCommerce store €199 per month. Backups, updates, security, monitoring, an SEO check and, in the higher packages, small edits are included. No lock-in; prices are final and we are not VAT registered.
Why isn’t switching on automatic updates enough?
Automatic updates without backups and checks are the most common reason a website breaks or the cart stops working. With maintenance, updates happen with a backup, and afterwards we check that the website, forms and orders still work.
What happens if the website goes down?
Monitoring alerts me, I find the cause, deal with it together with the hosting provider or restore the website from a backup. Fixing downtime caused by an update I made is always included.
Do I have to change hosting?
No. I work on your existing hosting; I just need access. If the hosting is causing slowness or downtime, I’ll tell you and recommend where to move, but the decision is yours.
Do you maintain websites you didn’t build?
Yes, most of the websites I maintain were built by other vendors. In the first month I do an entry check, and if anything on the website is risky, we discuss it up front.
How are you different from regular WordPress maintenance?
The monthly SEO check in Search Console. Regular maintenance checks that the website is up. I also check that Google can see it, index it and send people to it. An update that doesn’t crash the website but switches off indexing is worse for a business than downtime.
Is maintenance suitable for a Shoptet store?
No, Shoptet handles its own updates and backups. For Shoptet, an SEO service or hourly on-page work makes more sense. Maintenance is for WordPress and WooCommerce.
How long does the takeover take?
Usually within one week of receiving access. The first backup is done on the day of the takeover.
Do you maintain websites outside Slovakia?
Yes, maintenance is done remotely, so it doesn’t matter where your company or hosting is. I work in English, Slovak and Czech.
WordPress maintenance is provided by Milan Fraňo and the WooAcademy team, Bratislava. Prices valid from October 2026.
